Why Our Vote Matters
In America, most of us believe voters should pick our leaders. Those in power are trying to keep people from voting so they can control our elections and seize more power. Across the country, new laws, purged voter rolls, and intimidation tactics are being used to keep Black voters, Brown voters, people with disabilities, and new Americans away from the polls.
Keeping people from voting only works if we stay silent.
Voting is how we impact the decisions that shape our lives. When communities are kept from voting, it changes who holds power and whose voices are heard. Decisions about healthcare, wages, housing, and education are made without us. We won’t stand for it.
Protecting our vote means making sure every eligible voter can cast a ballot, every vote is counted, and every community has an equal say in the decisions that shape our lives.
